Meftahetdinova Zemfira Aliyevna was born on May 28, 1963 in Baku. She began to practice clay shooting in 1976 under the guidance of the Honored Trainer of the USSR Khafiz Jafarov. In 1984 she graduated from the Azerbaijan State Institute of Physical Culture. International Master of Sports (1986) and Honored Master of Sports (1996). Zemfira, who won the world champion title in 2001 (Egypt), won a silver medal at the World Cup Championship (Seoul). In 2003 she became the European champion (Czech Republic). In 2004, Zemfira achieved success in Athens, Greece. Our athlete, who took second place in the World Cup competitions here, then became the owner of a bronze medal at the XXVIII Summer Olympic Games. Zemfira Meftakhetdinova is a two-time Olympic champion and a six-time world record holder. Twice (1995, 2004) she was awarded the Order of Glory (2000) and the medal Progress by the President of the country. By order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on granting special Olympic scholarships to the champions of the Olympic Games of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Zemfira Aliyevna was also included in the list of holders of this scholarship dated 10.10.2002. She was a participant in the XXIX Summer Olympic Games, which were held in Beijing in 2008.
