Timokhin Valery Vasily oghlu was born on May 15, 1959 in the Tula region of the Russian Federation.
Valery Timokhin first took part in the Olympic Games in 1988. Ranked 11th among 52 athletes with a score of 149 at the XXIV Summer Olympic Games held in Seoul, South Korea.
In 1992, he also participated in the next Olympic Games. At the XXV Summer Olympic Games held in Barcelona, Spain, Valery Timokhin scored 145 points and took 25th place among 60 athletes.
In 1955, by order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, he was awarded the "Medal of Progress".
The last time Valery Timokhin participated in the Olympic Games was in 1996. Timokhin finished 38th among 54 athletes with 116 points at the XXVI Summer Olympic Games, in Atlanta, USA.
He has won three silver medals and one bronze medal at the World Championships.
